1990 Toyota Corolla SR-5 from North America - Comments

"I love my Toyota's :-)"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I just bought the car at an auction for $425, all it needs is rear 1/4 panel, rocker panel work and brake pads. The top of the rear seats have started to fade and the chrome molding has come loose from the rear bumper... big deal :-)

General comments?

After I bid on the car I was worried it was a piece of crap but after looking at it closely I quickly realized that other than the rust it is a solid and good running car that will last me another 200000 k's.

I also own a 1983 Toyota 4x4 and wouldn't trade it for the world!

If anyone has advice for top performance or parts for this car please e-mail me... Toyota83@hotmail.com

Thanks

It is now 2 years later and 235000km's on her and she's still doing great! I did a good body job on her and since have changed the starter, timing belt, water pump and exhaust. Not bad for $425 :-)...actually after the body job I have put about $3000 total with purchase price, not bad. I love Toyota's!!!

We have long since given the Corolla to family who needed a reliable car as it has served its purpose for us. The only thing it needed in the last 4 years is a couple of brake lines and a gas tank. The body is shot from driving in the salt so it's now used rarely, but it still runs great at over 400,000km's...unbelievable!

We now own a 2006 Corolla Sport and a 2006 Tacoma SR-5...we love them both :-D.
