1993 Toyota Corolla Standard 4 door sedan from North America - Comments

"A reliable and dependable basic car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Alternator went at 40000 miles (AC-Delco).

Replaced it with a Toyota alternator, replaced again at 115000 miles.

Lots of road and wind noise.

General comments?

Overall a good dependable car.

I get 30-35 mpg generally. Near 40 mpg on long trips.

Drives well, no problems in the snow or rain.

Engine runs great.

Leg and head room are OK (I am 6'2").

My '91 Corolla's AC/Delco alterator went out at 28,000 miles--no problems with the replacement "Toyota" alterator at 96,000 Miles.

Starter died at 80,000 miles. Don't know it if was AC/Delco too--just didn't feel like crawling under the car that day :-)

I have driven a 93 toyota corolla several times and I did not like it. I have to disagree with you with the head room and leg I am around 6' 2" also and I hit my head all the time in it. and it doesn't have the power that I want in it.

I have corolla 92 lsx. It gives about 11kms per litre petrol

average. I agree with wind noise problems and second gear shifting jerk. I think it is a good car of its time.
