1992 Toyota Corolla Super Windy review from Zimbabwe
"Well she's called Super Windy by her maker for a reason..1992 never looked better either"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front right CV joint outer was knocking on delivery.. sorted with a simple re grease (old grease dry and ineffective).
General comments?
..she curves in the best of places!Whilst being one of the smallest three door hatch backs made by Toyota we love the performance and smooth shifting auto box which along with air conditioning and smooth vibration free power delivery make this econobox a real long trekking possibility.
Overall quality is by any standard sound..the fact that we paid only USD 1700 delivered Africa from Japan as a second hand makes it a true value for money buy.
What we don't like are the poorly formed front seats (which after around three hundred k's give you a bit of a bite in the auld back!) Supports for the rear parcel shelf have already disintegrated.. although Scooty (my dachshund and personal bodyguard has never been sat up there!).
Further she burns a bit of oil (around a litre every 1000 clicks)..possibly rings bedding in after a long sit on the sales floor in Japan.. possibly me being an ever optimist and looking at a re-bore instead... no I'm going to drive her as is till at least 120 thou and then we'll have a peek!
