Needed a head gasket at 43,000 miles.
Goes through C/V joints very quickly.
Ignition coils went bad at 50,000.
Car has been very reliable for what it is, most likely the fastest front wheel drive street car in the world.
0-60 in 5.2 seconds.
Quarter mile in 12.3 seconds.
6 speed transmission.
237hp at front wheels.
246 made in entire world.
And its bone stock.
If you can find one, and if you can afford it, (mine cost 24,899$ used)
and if you can live with a front wheel drive Corolla with almost 240h.p., and if you are any sort of car nut, you will have the most fun in your entire life.
It kicks some serious a$$
Are you sure this car is for real. I have looked all over the internet and can't find any thing on this car. I've found stuff on a fx-16 GT-S, but not fx-16 IT. I've never heard of a bone stock four cylinder car putting out that muct power from the 80's.
There was no such thing as this car sold in America in the 1980's and the fact it has a six speed transmission (a feature not available on ANY car sold here in the 1980's) means it was either a special tuner car or custom built.
I don't doubt the claims of speed, etc., just that it was an OEM vehicle.
I would really like to see pictures of this car. I want to know if its the hatch back or the regular 2-door model.
I think this was posted as a joke fella's.
Definitely a joke! I don't even think you would find any thing like this from a 4 banger' overseas, not stock anyway!
4AGE-ROLLACOASTA.
No '87 FX-16 had a 6 speed.
Well the FX-16 definitely exists and is quite zippy as previously stated, mine has over 250,000 miles on it and is in sort of disrepair but has never failed me. If this dude really paid 25,000 for one you can have my 87 for half!!!
