1991 Toyota Corolla Standard low cost version review from North America
"Awesome cheap daily driver"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car leaked some oil when I first got it from the oil pan... well it got worst and worst so I decided to have the gasket changed. car doesn't leak any oil now, but still smokes blue on startup when cold.
General comments?
I got this toyota with 130K miles and I don't drive slowly.. grown up in germany I take the corolla to 2 digits speeds with a response to the firehouse. the car got a self made ram air intake build into the front bumper to make it faster on acceleration and nice on the top speed. speedometer goes to 110 but car still pulls over that.. I only use synthetic oils (not castrol synthec... that's not a REAL synthetic oil by the way) in the engine and transmission. the oil gets changed when it gets dirty not when jiffy lube says it needs to. car is a daily driver and still drives like its ready to go some more thousand miles. mechanically the car is in awesome shape considering the pain it needs to go through with me, but that's a toyota I guess runs awesome if you take care of it. the interior is cheap and some plastic parts are broken, but hey.. car drives that's it.
