1988 Toyota Corolla seca liftback GLX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Good reliable peformer with excellent fuel economy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air conditioning was not working, but dealer fixed before I took delivery.
Engine had slight miss at times, had tune up, now using brand petrol and problem seems gone.
Clutch losing pressure,
mechanic fitted new master cylinder seems OK now.
Some rust around windscreen and near rear wheel arches.
Electrical problems not functioning such as high beam, windscreen washer, cigarette lighter, digital clock.
General comments?
The car has good peformance when you rev it through the 5 speed transmission.
It is fairly comfortable with air conditioning and power steering.
It is fun to drive especially on the highway with great handling around the twisty bits
(look out commodore and falcon drivers)
Really easy on petrol with 600 kilos per full tank, cost about $50.
Hope to keep car for numerous years and do some modifications when time and cash available.
