1987 Toyota Corolla GT review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I got this car with a pretty full history, I've had it for approximately 14 months, no engine probs but problems with steering; had replacement rack (second hand), problem still there, gearbox crunchy, rust on rear arches, boot and sunroof.
General comments?
I love this car, 0-60 is twitchy so hold on tight, but around 5000 revs in 3rd it seems to scream and not do much. Basically it's a high rev engine and to make it perform you have to scream the ass of it, changing down gears for manoeuvres is a must, noisey drive. I'd love to put a 2.0 ltr Celica engine in it. Becoming rare, brilliant car if on a low budget, but DIY fitting a must, discs & pads all round 130 quid from Partco.
Can I chip it? Let me know nickbsam@aol.com
