2000 Toyota Corolla Ascent review from Australia and New Zealand
"The best car in the world?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong with this car.
General comments?
This is our family's third car. We also have a high performance sports car and a luxury car as well. But guess what? The Corolla as boring as it seems is the best of the lot! It has great build quality. It reliably gets you from A to B in quiet calm and refinement. The late model "luxury car" we own is (gasp!) noisier and spends way too much time in the garage!. The Corolla's performance is enough to get you easily booked for speeding yet it does not attract attention to itself like the performance car. It also rides better and seats a family of five. The Corolla is far more economical than the other two vehicles and doesn't demand special PULP fuel. You can park it into spaces which the luxury car can only dream about without worrying about vandals or the occasional parking dingle. Our previous everyday car (Daihatsu) had some similar qualities, but was way too tinny to compare. The Corolla must clearly be the best car in the world. Perhaps we should sell the other two cars?
