1990 Toyota Corolla GTi review from UK and Ireland
"Luke warm hatch chasing the pack"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sticky front caliper- just needed greasing.
Small oil leak.
Shed loads of rust.
Needed new stearing rack end.
Missing rear suspension rod (or something like that).
General comments?
Not a bad car, but not, I would say, a very good one either.
Theres the usual toyota reliability and bomb-proof engines. That's the good stuff.
Bad- they rust faster and like no other car on this planet. Allways do a thorough check on all arches, sunroof, tailgate, windscreen surround and bonnet. Check under wheel arches, sills and rear tailgate.
Interior is drab. Although seats are very good and offer plenty of support.
Performance isn't thrilling. 0-60 in 9 seconds.
Handling is very poor.
Styling is awful- those sidescirts- YAK!
Overall a very average car. If you want my opinion (and you probably don't) go for something like a crx for the extra performance and style.
