1975 Toyota Corolla review from Australia and New Zealand
"It beats walking"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I got a flat tyre and the brake fluid appeared to be leaking, but now I think it was just empty when I bought it, so someone (dad) didn't do a good job with the test drive. Other than that it has been suprisingly good. It also has a bit of rust, but nothing too serious. After all it is 7 years older then me (to my credit, I have no rust)
General comments?
I was surprised by how much power it has. After my last cars, which were a 1984 Mitsubishi Colt and a 1976 Chrysler Lancer, both 1.4 litres, I really didn't expect this car to have much power up hills, but it definately performs better up hills, although around town it doesn't do so well because it is a lot slower off the mark, but I think this might be because it is heavier. It's a two door also, which is really annoying for two reason. One is the obvious inconvenience of having to let passengers in and out, and the second is that the door is so long that in the car park you open it and unless you want to bang the cars next to you you don't have much room to get out because the door won't open far enough. It also looks likea turtle.
