1989 Toyota Corolla DX review from North America
"A great car for a teenager to start off with."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Catylitic converter is on its way out.
Rear brakes wore out.
Emergency brake cable snapped.
Trunk door has to be pushed up because the pump that pushes it up has lost its power.
Rust spot developing on trunk door.
Rear wiper blade bolts are rusted on.
Bad oil light flashes when I have car at complete stop while in Drive even though I just changed the oil.
Fuel line leaked.
One of my belts is going.
Possibly my power steering pump is going.
General comments?
This car is really good overall despite the parts that went, or are on their way out.
The car has always started strong.
Its acceleration isn't the best.
4WD option is great for snow.
Overdrive on and off option is great for gas savings.
I get about 30 MPG still.
Steering is really good.
