2004 Toyota Corolla S review from North America
"You'll wonder why you ever considered another"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing!! If you're tired of bringing your car to the dealer for problem after problem...you'll love this car.
General comments?
Purchased new, S model was only 5-spd on lot..I'm not a fan of tacked on "aero" kits, but it's growing on me. I drive a great distance for work, and now have over 56,000 miles on this car in app. 14 months of ownership!! I have not experienced one single problem. Yes there is a great deal of road noise, and a few MINOR creaks now and again... but this is still an "ECONOMY" car, costing under 16,000-loaded-out the door. Compared to my Nissan Sentra made in 1988, this Corolla feels almost lexus like. I'm 6'4" and 285lbs. with a muscular frame, and I fit well. After regular trips of 350 miles non-stop..I arrive none worse for the wear. Gas mileage is a little weird... In warm months it's between 36 and 40mpg hwy... in colder months it's between 30 and 34mpg hwy. No change in driving style, just a drop due to climate change. I still feel that the mpg is outstanding.
