1994 Toyota Corolla XND review from UK and Ireland
"I can't argue with the reliability"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The central locking doesn't always work on the key, but as there is a lock button inside I really can't be bothered to fix it. Otherwise the car has been dead reliable.
General comments?
I bought the car cheap as it had been handed down through my girlfriends family. With a half hour commute to work every day economy was a big issue. My old Peugeot 106 XND would manage and incredible 70mpg if I stuck to 50mph. The Toyota manages a regular 50mph almost regardless of speed, which is still not bad, but the Toyota has the advantage that it can tow a modest trailor and doesn't require much maintenance. Since I have had it it has not yet broken down and I really can't argue with that. OK some boy-racers may say it is boring, but for we grown ups with mortgages some things come more highly important. Actually I quite like driving a diesel as the noisier diesel engine is a heck of a lot more interesting to drive behind than a modern petrol if you are sticking to the speed limits.
