Since I purchased this One-Owner not a lot has gone wrong with it.
Alternator couldn't support my stereo and amp and had to be replaced, whether that's the car or just the stereo is any-body's guess.
When first purchased the tires were a little flat and a little bald and I went round a roundabout and the back end slid out forcing the front passenger wheel into a gutter. This forced the Camber on the car out and this wasn't actually discovered until I had fixed the bald tires with my new set of ROH 17' low profile's and took it in to see why the steering wheel was wobbling.
With my 'rolla the 17's are a bit big and tend to scrub out, I tried to fix this with the suspension, but when I figured I might as well lower it at the same time it didn't manage to fix it completely, the actual scrubbing is less as the shocks are harder, but the wheels still scrub out occasionally on a full lock or on bumps and things.
The steering has a looseness to it that I have had checked out and have been assured it's nothing too hazardous, although, there must be something to explain why my steering wheel still wobbles. The wheel experts must be right... had a similar prob??? let me know.
I love my 'rolla, especially the way that my double carby produces an almost turbo-like sound with my 2' exhaust.
I would always recommend corollas to my peers, I'm 19, female and reckon anyone that has owned a rolla can vouch for the reliability and drive.
The only thing I don't like about this car (an AE82 for exact reference), is the front-wheel drive. Coming from my Gemini, a tough rear-wheel drive, I'd have to say it's a definite step up in practically, but when it comes to getting sidewards, its nowhere near the extravagant skills of the Gemini, especially with my 17's, but on take off and top speed it definitely shuts the four doors on my old Holden.
I find my seats uncomfortable, and I dislike the rear taillights. Fortunately, both of these can be fixed, one by possibly Recaro when I save up and the other by some custom designer that I have yet to find and talk to about my hideously plain and boring lights.
Also, not a great body to look at, bit of a weird behind, has something to it though, when I get the paint job and body kit, I'm sure its weird behind will go a little more unnoticed.
My steering wheel shakes when I'm on the highways doing 85-95 km/h, but it's only noticeable when I slow down or speed up. Other than that the wheel doesn't wobble anywhere else.
