1979 Toyota Corolla Custom review from North America
"Great and Reliable First Car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator at 150,000.
Valve Gasket at 160,000.
Exhaust Manifold Gasket at 130,000.
I think that the Relay is about to go at 170,000
All repairs done myself except for Exhaust Manifold Gasket.
General comments?
This car is nowhere near as fun to drive as my previous car. However, it is very reliable and a great first car. Gas mileage is disapointing for a four cylinder, only 20 mpg at best. May be better as a manual. Seats aren't the most comfortable for long trips due to no lumbar support. Overall, a great car for a young driver due to low insurance costs and not very fast. Does anyone know where I can find a 1979 Corolla SR-5 model. If so, e-mail me @ jennasbear@msn.com. Thank you very much.
