"Car is Excellent - just don't get into an ACCIDENT!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Great Car...But, was in a car accident - hit on the driver's side and broke my clavicle in 5 places. I was wearing my seat belt, and my car was totaled. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY! I didnt realize this was a problem until I went on the NHTSA website (National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration) and saw that a lot of people's airbags did NOT deploy and they all had my same injury. Other than this, this car was FANTASTIC! (not being sarcastic)...this was a really great car and the only other problem was a weird loud squealing/whistling noise that came from either the sunroof or the top of my windshield. But, out of the million other problems this car COULD HAVE had, it only had 2. I rate this car absolutely excellent... and the value is unbeatable... it looks a lot more expensive than it really is. I love it!

General comments?

Great Car! Looks expensive... but you won't believe the cheap/affordable price. Great First Car for me, but as I'm getting older (reaching mid-20s), I can't see myself in a compact car at 25...going to go mid-size - probably a 2007 Toyota Camry or Hyundai Sonata or Chevy Malibu... but after reading a lot of reviews and crash test ratings and defects and recalls and complaints... I really don't want ANY car...I'd rather take the bus. :-) But, I'll most likely choose the Camry (if the speed surges get fixed) or the Sonata (if the overly sensitive steering gets fixed) or the Malibu (if the wiring gets fixed)...Good luck with car shopping.

Don't airbags go off if you're hit in the front or the back? Not the side?

Unless you had side impact airbags on it, I don't see how a big airbag popping out the front of the wheel would help a crashing force coming through the door.

Uhh hate to break it to you, but no car is perfect. You worry too much about "this-and-that" being fixed in every car. If you are that worried, you might as well go ahead and take the bus.

I wouldn't be too stressed about upgrading to a larger car at 25. I just down sized to an 06 Corolla at 45 and love it!

As gas prices continue to rise, people in gas sucking SUV's will be wishing they owned Corolla's.

Get an Accord. I have a 92 and it runs like an 07.
