1992 Toyota Corolla SE-G review from Indonesia
"Reliable and durable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
After 80,000 km (7 years old):
Changed the timing belt, bearings and tensioner.
Changed almost all air conditioning system parts (evaporator, dryer, pipes, amplifier, and compressor seals).
Changed power steering pump seals, hosepipe, and all seals at the bottom)
Changed brake pads (front and rear).
Changed the water pump.
Changed all the cooling system hosepipe and radiator upper cap.
Changed shock absorbers (use Kayaba instead of the original one)
Changed tie rod (long and short) and other parts.
Total, it costs me around US$ 2,000 for the last 6 years to fix them all.
General comments?
Although I spent much money to fix all the broken parts, I still love this car. That is because I am a fan of Toyota especially Corolla.
Overall, the car is reliable, I have never gone thru any major repairment (e.g. a comprehensive engine overhaul). So to me, the car is very durable and reliable.
