1994 Toyota Corolla STD review from North America
"Good reliability Average everything else"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
-Differential had serious wear. Had to be replaced for ~400$ This is probably because the previous owner abused the crap out of it. It only has a 3 speed a/t. I would have been much happier with the 5 speed manual. If your looking for a 93-97 rolla be sure to check the driveaxles to make sure they are nice and tight in the differential and not loose and wobbly, which was the mistake I made ;)
-just normal stuff-a/t filter change, oil, plugs, wires, ect.
General comments?
The car is very uncomfortable and it is kind of noisy.
Its slow, but the fuel economy more than makes up for it (it averages 30 mpg city/hwy)
The reliability is really good if the car has been taken care of by the previous owner. Just being a Toyota doesn't make it invincible. The motor generally last very long and are dependable. But take caution if your interested in one with the A131L transmission.
