1984 Toyota Corolla LX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Not comfy, but robust"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Some Rust has started to form at places, considering car is more than 20 years old. Dash board cracked, Have hard time winding up windows, general wear and tear. Horn stopped working.
General comments?
The car was 20 years old when I bought it, untill now, it never broke down. The 4k engine is really robust and would probably last 100 years if maintained. Engine doesn't use cambelts that easilly break, engine is easy to fix. This corolla I have is a Rear-drive model, and is more reliable and robust than most FWD cars I owned.
It doesn't go that fast, but it'll get you there. Its also not comfortable due to the leaf spring suspension and cramped interior. The older corolla is really cramped compared to its modern counterparts. But in reliability, it is a class of its own. The car takes any abuse and runs like there is no tommorow.
