1990 Toyota Cressida GLXi review from Australia and New Zealand
"A sports car in disquise"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I brought the car from an old couple who had it from new. When I got it I changed all the oils and air filter and the plugs and leads as well as the tappet cover gasket. all of this was just to really service it if any thing, but when I got it it ran fine any way.
General comments?
This car goes a lot harder than I had expected. my previous car being a 3.8L OHC commodore (which is a Buick Engine) had power, but it was rough sounding and all the stuff started to fall apart at 180000 kms. The Cressida which I got at 200000kms goes harder than the commodore and it is more smoother and quieter as well. All the options on it are well ahead of its time for its age, and were kept in such good condition it is like it just rolled out of the factory. The car also drifts very nice aswell being RWD and the car just before the Mark II turbo which in japan is a very popular drifter in competitions The car goes hard and looks soft when it is stock.
