Water pipe to radiator replaced.
Alternator rebuild.
One of the best cars ever build.
It is a reliable and good quality car. I never stood beside the road stranded with this car. It's got good acceleration, but not a great top speed +/- 160km/h. The interior still looks new and the car is very conferrable. It is a gas guzzler around 6-7km/L.
The car is still completely original, the engine never been opened, no oil leaks. Braking is fairly good (front disk brakes). I love driving this car, it's got a good sounding engine and the auto box is superb. Great for a 20- year old car!!
Oh! Your choice is on "dandyism of stoicism"! According to your report, you got the Toyota Cressida 2000L in place for the Peugeot 607, the French luxury sedan comparable with Mercedes and BMWs. Compared with the smooth and majestic Peugeot's 2946cc V6 motor, the Toyota's traditional 4-cylinder 1972cc 21R-U engine seems human all the better for its chintzy attributes. I admire this engine's rock-solid reliability as well as simple mechanism! Your Toyota Cressida was sold in Japan, my home country, with the designation of "Toyota Mark-II" and very popular in those days. In this era, I was mere a schoolboy of 8-9 year-old, but I admired the classical elegance of the car's inside and outside and flexibility of its engine so I rated this car as a worthy Japanese Volvo and Peugeot alternative (albeit not BMW and Mercedes bracket).
I hope you'll be happy about driving and using the Toyota Cressida!
