"Great reliable commuter, with over 40MPG average"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing has broken yet.

General comments?

This car has been exceptionally reliable; at 120,000 we have not even replaced the brake pads.

My maintenance has been oil changes every 3k-5k miles, air filter about every 20k miles, and I've replaced the antifreeze and gear oil twice. Also the spark plugs and belts got changed at 100,000 miles.

It seems to run as good as when we bought it at 30,000 miles. The only time I have gotten below 40MPG is when I drove about 90MPH (yes it will do 90) for a tank.

The car is boring, and since my girlfriend abducted it, I don't drive it anymore, but if it was still my daily driver I would have sold it due to it being so slow and boring. After going to a V6, I just can't go back. I'm not faulting the car for being slow and boring as this is what you get for an inexpensive 40MPG vehicle.

The Echo is slow and boring.

It's also as ugly as a mud fence, especially the two door.
