False check Engine Light 150,000 km. Caused by dirty Mass Air Flow Sensor (common problem I found after web research) Spray with carburator ot brake cleaner to resolve (don't let Toyota replace!)
Power Steering Pump failed ~ 105,000km.
Wiper metal rusted 60,000km.

I can also carry 10' long boards inside!
I see that you didn't comment on the car's styling, because it has to be one of the ugliest cars on the road. Toyota will hopefully either pull this car from it's lineup or restyle it so that it doesn't look like a cheap, garbage looking go-cart!
I agree with the above comment about the ECHO's (lack of) styling. It must be one of the few cars whose two door version is uglier than the four-door.
The styling and other oddities like the central-mounted instrument panel are probably why it has not met sales expectations, thus Toyota will pull it from the North American market next year.
In reference to the above comments... Amazed that you would be concerned about the appearance of the car in these times of energy extortion as the manuals get close to 42. Who cares, if you don't like the looks go buy an SUV and further support your local cartel boss's spending habits.
Everyone around us envies us with our car color (light blue) and height inside. We like the style because it is distinctive alright :). So when we're in the city, friends wave at us because our Echo is recognizable. But they don't recognize us when we're in our Toyota Tacoma. Personally, I think it's cute and reminds me of a ladybug (though I've never seen them in blue :D).
