1992 Toyota MR2 GTi 16 t-bar review from UK and Ireland
"Fantastic quick, comfortable bargain sports car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch needed replacing at 62000 miles, cam belt was replaced at 55000 miles, rear tyres wear out every 1000 miles.
Very reliable car.
General comments?
There is nothing that can compare with the performance, handling and reliability of this car.
I have fitted a performance exhaust and cone air filter, I have got a dyno sheet saying 167 bhp which is a increase of 13 bhp from standard.
The car was fitted with cheap tyres when I purchased it, these made for some hairy moments on roundabouts, however I now have toyo proxies t1-s all round and the car is much more predictable and handles fantastic.
There are lots of owners clubs on the Internet, like the mr2oc where experienced Toyota owners/technicians will be more than happy to help with any questions.
