"Street legal go cart"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Parking brake cable.

General comments?

The car handles on rails and is quick,

my other car is an 84 300zx 50th ae it

does not handle as well, but is 2x as fast. I got the mr2 for $750 but would have payed twice as much for it.

So, your beater nissan is 2x as fast as your beater toyota.

But you rated the toyota at 10/10 for performance?

Sure, that makes sense...

To the above comment:

Performance also means handling, speeding up, stopping distance, etc. Just because the Nissan is faster, does not mean that the Toyota is not fun to drive and perform.

I have a 1994 Mr2 and believe that it has one of the best handling abilitys than most other cars. It accelerates quickly, stops quick, turns quick, and looks nice.

Yeah the MR2 is a great handling car once you get used to the characteristics of the mid-engine and rear wheel drive. It gives you tons of confidence in the dry, but it can catch you out in the wet if you're not careful. The N/A MR2 is fairly quick, but the turbo would leave it standing.

I bet the Mk1 SC would be quicker from the mark ;) rather then the bulky 300zx.

Never compare an MR2 to a 300zx. I owned a 300 and have an mr2 now, the 300 didn't get crap for gas, but it would leave my mr2 in the dust, and that's the 1st gen 300! The z32 would destroy it. Mr2 is overall fun, not even quick, but make good turns. Performance is poor on an mr2 unless you have the SC.

Or drop a turbo into it as many seem to be doing. Google/You tube Mr2 Mk1.5. Still 0-60 in 8 secs is great for a 21 year old car.
