A great car.
A classic.
Owned mine now since 1991, 14 years of fun.
Precision handling and balance.
Plenty of power from Jan-speed Exhaust and k&N filter.
Very reliable.
Parts expensive, but you don't need many very often.
Hi I don't think its the best 1600cc engined car, I think the honda civic vti is much better and faster.
To the civic fan - have you ever actually DRIVEN an MR2? I would bet not, because if you had, you'd know it is one of the best designed cars ever made, simple as that. I've got a JZA80 TT supra, but to be honest, the AW11 MR2 is really a better car. Not as fast of course, but the simplicity and elegance of the design is perfection in metal... and the handling... my word... just drive it once, and you'll know what I mean!
Hi, have you ever driven a civic vti, I haven't driven an mr2 but I have raced many and left them.

In Canada my mr2 mk 1 always showed my honda friends which car was designed as a true sportscar from conception. Honda civics/crx's from the 80's were designed as economy cars first, then tuned to be more sporty.
Hi, I live in Canada, and Civics are a dime a dozen, and at the price you can't get a decent one that can match up to the same money put into a MR2, so there's no comparison!
Civics - family car, or wanna-be ricers.
MR2 - SPORTS CAR.
