Nothing really major. My Water pump just recently went bad. And I had to have the springs, motor mounts, and left axle replaced. The car is low to the ground so the pot hole filled streets of New York can make for a rough ride in a Paseo.
This is a great car. It requires little maintenance and is very reliable. Even when this car has had problems its never left me stranded anywhere. The engine performs great even over 100k miles and the transmission still shifts smoothly. The car gives you a sports car look and feel without actually being one. I only wish the back seat were a little larger (a full size adult could not sit back there) and that the engine had a little more horsepower.
I have had my Toyota Paseo for 17 years. Love this car, never had any problems whatsoever.
Recently I have had to replace a worn part. Most recently, yesterday, the repair man says I need work done on the transmission, not sure what, there is some vibration/wobbling in the steering wheel, he balanced the tires etc., seems better, however he seems to think that when up on the lift and examining the axles etc., there seems to be too much moving around of certain parts that go to the transmission... price to fix... between $1,500 and $2,500 + he does not do transmissions so he recommended a reliable one to me... what to do?
Any suggestions please?...LLT.
