1993 Toyota Paseo review from Australia and New Zealand
"Great little sports car and would recommend to first time drivers"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I got the paseo when it was reasonably old so the one of the engine mounts needed to be replaced. just recently we've had to replace the spark plugs (but your meant to do that at 200k).
And right now my cv's and front struts are playing up so I have to get them replaced. my seats are now starting to wear, but that's not a major problem I don't think. my head lights are also a lil weird.. one is brighter then the other and it looks like one sticks up more than the other. I don't know if that's a car fault or a pre-user fault.
I have had some other problems, but they are not so much to do with the car, probally just previous owners or the car yards. things like, wrong battery size and the front brake rotors being the wrong size.
General comments?
I love this little car. it's a great first sports car to start off in. it dosent have a a powerful engine (so parents can be at rest) and its great fun to drive. it handles quite well I thought and sounds great with a 2 1/4 sports exhaust :D as far as doing modifications to them, they have the same motor as a starlet so you can find a bolt on turbo kit which should fit straight on. I haven't found too many bodykits for it however I haven't really looked. being a student I love this car as I can get average 550kms to a tank of feul. I have never had any electrical problems with this car. and it even starts first time every time. I wouldn't like to see a tall person in teh back of the car or even driving this car tho. it looks like it could get a bit crammy. I'm only 5'2 and my head is only just under the back window.. I've had taller ppl in the back and they have been a bit uncomfy. the interior is simple which is good and easy to change.
