1986 Toyota Pickup review from North America
"Great small truck hauler, great gas mileage, Ran great in the snow. Always started and ran good"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The windshield washer pump stopped working after five years. Got aftermarket for 4 dollars.
Seats deteriorated after 10 years, always parked outside.
Horrible rust problem rear fenders.
Developed a kind of engine knock at 40000 miles. Still ran good till I sold it at 190000.
General comments?
What a truck!!! Bought new for 6100 dollars.
I beat the hell out of this truck all the time. Hauling
stone and soil with the bed resting on the axle, high speed acceleration with a cold engine at the end of work, everyday.
I did drive it good most of the time and usually got 31 mpg every tankfull, easy.
I sold it for 200 dollars to a friend after 18 years. He blew a head gasket a year later, fixed it himself and I tried to buy it back for 500 when it was 21 years old but was a week late. Best vehicle I ever drove, I'm 54.
