The typical wear and tear items like the clutch, belts and hoses, timing chain, brakes, tires, etc.
The back bumper has rusted, but no other rust.
Quite possibly the most reliable car or truck ever made.
It felt like I could have drove it 200,000 more miles when I sold it.
Only thing I hate is the lack of power steering.
I have regretted selling this truck.
I just bought an 85' toyota 2wd, std cab pickup. it has 225,000 miles on it. burns about 1 quart of oil every 100 miles, gets 20 miles per gallon. this truck has had the worst life ever. it has been over a atv dirt track. jumping driveways. stuck in the mud and snow and held the gas to the floor for at least 2-5 minuets each time. and it still lives as bad as ever. no major repairs. I like to drive it better than my new 4x4 dakota.
The only thing I don't like about 85 toyota pickups is all the rust in the beds other than that it's a great truck.
I had an 85, the frame rusted away above the rear wheels, and my stupid cousin blew the head gasket, but this truck would go anywhere, mine had 147k miles when I let her go. ext. cab 4X4, and it meant it too, you wanna go somewhere, put her in 4X4 and go! I miss my old Toyota! My s-10 has a vortec high output v-6 but isn't nearly the truck my "yota" was. Even my sister's '03 Tacoma ext. cab 4X4 isn't the truck mine was, mine had more power and it was a 4cyl just as hers is.
