1993 Toyota Pickup review from North America
"Absolutely the best spent transportation dollar"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Now; seat belt return mechanism weak on drivers side.
I neglected to change the original fan belts, one broke and I overheated the engine at about 100,000 miles. The engine started burning a little oil after that, (quart every 1000), sometimes a blue puff when starting, but runs great.
General comments?
This was purchased new, it was a sale ad 'lossleader'. Out the door for less than 7G's. Shortbed regular cab 5 speed, white/ blue interior.
Has been solidly reliable for nearly a decade. Paint still shines, always parked outside.
Comfortable long distance driver; my last mini-truck (nissan) was miserable after one hour. The seats (cloth) are still in great shape.
Original tires lasted 63,000, Original delco battery lasted 7 years, still on original clutch (pulled utility trailer at times).
Always good on gas, high 20's commuting up to 35 highway.
Parts are fairly reasonable and maintainence has been easy for me to do.
