2004 Toyota Pickup Tocoma review from North America
"Gas mileage was a disappointment"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The idler bearing for the power steering got loose after 500 miles. This pulley was replaced three times, but did not solve the problem.
There is a clunking noise in the gear shift when I put on the brakes.
General comments?
This truck appears to be well built, but it does not have sufficient power to safely enter highways.
The gas mileage, on level highway (with the air conditioner on) is: 24 mpg at 65 mph, 25 mpg at 60 mph, 27 at 50 mph.
My 1985 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon gets the same gas mileage as this 2004 Toyota pickup.
