I bought the truck with 251,233 miles with a blown head gasket and leaking water pump. I fixed those problems, did regular maintenance work, and did a little tweeking. I added a Comp Cams camshaft, a header with custom exhaust back, a 32/36 weber carburetor, an electric fan, and a MSD 6a box. All of this has made the 5 spd so much fun to drive.
The truck now has 260,356 miles with no problems in the stock bottom end. I would also like to state that I added mustang seats for comfort. I am also getting 30 mpg in the city with my truck and 33 mpg highway. Got to love that. Although it is the size of an RC car it is awesome to drive. Now all I need is a turbo!
This posting to your survey I found very interesting and helpful. I also have a 1986 Toyota pick-up and appreciate the fact that mustang seats were added for comfort. Thank you all!
