1993 Toyota Pickup review from North America

Occasionally, this car makes a high pitched whiny sound. This can be resolved by turning the engine off and restarting it.

Other than that, the car had its clutch replaced once because everyone wanted to practice stick shift on this car.

The rear end of this car is extremley light, and caution should be used, especially on rainy days because the rear tends to slide and the rear tires spin out easily on loose surfaces. One could add bags of sand to the rear in order to solve this problem, but it will ruin the horsepower to weight ratio, since this is such a light truck.

The car has really poor insulation. At around 60 MPH, the interior noise level is pretty high. There is also no tachometer, so one must go by sound to shift, which can become annoying when there are outside noises (i.e. when windows are rolled down).

I really enjoy this car because it is reliable, efficient, and fast.

If one regularly changes the oil, the engine will run strong for a long, long time.

Nothing seems to break down in this car because it is so simple. There are no power anythings on this car, which can also be a bad things since this steering tends to be heavy.

I used to get around 24 MPG driving mostly freeway. But, I changed my driving style and started cruising around 55-60 MPH on the freeway and got 28 MPG despite driving in the city more.

This car accelerates pretty fast and can beat a stock Honda Civic or Corolla. It has a lot of mid-end torque, but not a lot horsepower, so it's quick off the line, but not too good for passing on the freeway.

Driving this pickup is like driving a Camry. It feels a little loose on the freeway especially during gusts. Surprisingly, this car can corner just as well as a sedan. There's so much weight on the front that the car rarely under-steers. For everyday driving, this car is a bit bumpy. Most of the time you just don't realize you're driving a pickup truck.

For $7000 dollars out the door, this car was a great deal.
