1989 Toyota Pickup review from North America
"I'm a Chevy guy by heart, but toyotas run forever"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Due to low mileage not much has gone wrong with the truck.
The only problem to note recently is the engine light is on. Previous owner said it was the oxygen sensor. Does anyone have the same problem and found the oxygen sensor to be culprit. It doesn't seem to affect the performance or gas mileage. The rear suspension is saggy and needs some helper springs, or air bags. I live in Canada which hurts most Toyota's. Mine has been undercoated yearly and is still solid.
General comments?
The truck is tough. It handles the road well has lots of power. But the automatic, downshifts to hard and it feels like the engine is going to come out of the hood. I would have preferred a 5 speed. Toyota comfort is hard to beat.
