Brakes, tires and headlights required replacement.

General comments?

This car is extremely reliable. Here in Canada, our winters fall below -30C at times and I've never had a problem with this Previa starting on a cold Canadian morning. It is excellent in almost every aspect of reliability. I'm the kind of person who hasn't had any tune up or service done on this vehicle other than oil changes. But yet the van hasn't let me down.

My brother ran into a pole at 60 km/h which ripped a gash about 1 foot into the hood. The body cost $2000 to repair, but the engine never died. Even after the accident, the engine was running and the vehicle was driven home. The A/C condenser was damaged, but amazingly the radiator has not leaked even after that. Mind you, it is now a curve radiator (curved by the impact with the pole).

I have driven Nissan Urvans, Toyota Hi-aces in the Continental Sahara of North Africa for 5 years and a Volkswagen Vanagon in West Africa for 15 years. The Previa beats them in every aspect of reliability.

This vehicle was a costly investment, but if you do a cost/benefit analysis, the benefit buries the cost.

Ha ha, of course your engine is fine, its under your seat and well away from the front of the vehicle. I have one also, and recently crashed in it due to a jack-hole in a H2 cutting me off in heavy rain. I ran into a brick pillar and to my amazement, it ran perfectly like nothing had happened to it. After looking at the damages, only the hood, grill, bumper and the reinforcements were damaged. No damage to the radiator at all. I was planning to replace that grille anyway. I have one designed that I'm planning to make. The damages are pretty much easy work.
