"This would be very good for elders who are fans of SUV's"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

It's been in a bad accident by my son, but he was not hurt and not a scratch on him, which means that this is a safe vehicle.

At about 40,000 miles a seal went bad in the front and cost $70.

General comments?

This Rav4 has been very reliable. It has never been to the dealer since I first bought it, and not even mechanic shops. I have done work on this car myself and it's not hard.

It's good on gas.

The issue that I have on this Rav4 is road noise when going above 60mph. The road noise plus the engine noise is so loud that you have to have the radio on full blast to hear it, and it does not even sound like it's blasting until you slow down. That means the cabin should have been made better. Also it would help more with better tires.

This one is manual, which is not the smoothest. However I had a Saturn before this, and that also was manual, and I have to say at least it's smoother than the Saturn. I'm going to be getting a new Rav4, still with a 4 cylinder, but this time with automatic.
