2006 Toyota Sequoia review from North America
"Painfully unreliable, but comfortable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
4 days ago, when I was leaving for a very important meeting for work, I stuck the key in and turned it, and guess what happened? the entire electrical system shorted out. yes, exactly that. I heard a loud pop, an the navigation system and everythign flashed once, then died, thus causing me to miss my meeting and I nearly lost my job. whats even better, is that the toyota dealership was unconvinced that this was the vehicles fault and did not honor the warranty, therefore I had to pay almost 3000 dollars for the repair and got it back earlier today. I plan to take them to court on this. this is the last toyota I will own, EVER. I see here all the people that love their toyotas to death, despite all the problems. this is my first toyota, and it is my last. I expect a dealer of any sort to be much more professional about problems, and pull their heads out of their asses and accept that there was a problem.
General comments?
Well, what can I say... i am trading this thing in on a new chevrolet tahoe, where I know that the technology in it will not short out on me.
Now, let me clear my head and think of the good.
OK...here we go. before the problem, I loved this thing! the power is sooo smooth adn the ride is wonderful. I like all the options it came with, as I got the fully loaded one. its very beautiful and elegant and the fit and finish of the interior is top notch and perfect.
It amazes me though, that my old 1998 grand caravan didn't have a single problem in over 200000 miles, yet, here the all mighty TOYOTA crapped out at only a little over 48000 miles.
Amazing...simply amazing.
I cannot wait till I get my new tahoe.
