1998 Toyota Sienna LX review from North America

After 118,000 miles very little has gone wrong. All but the rattle started after 100,000 miles.

Drivers electric window failing.

Drive belt gasket oil leak. I had them replace the seals for $80 when doing the belts.

Funny transmission noise, but it has never failed to work. We were worried about it early on, but the dealer never found anything; not surprising during warranty.

Power steering pump leak. This has virtually stopped by itself.

Noise from air conditioner.

We're just starting to get the first little rust spots in this Florida vehicle.

We now get an odor from the engine compartment when using the cruise control.

There has been a rattle in the passenger side sliding door that's not too bothersome for the last 70,000 miles.

The interior shows no signs of wear except for where my son just recently dropped the lighter he shouldn't have been fooling around with in the first place.

The shocks perform as good as new, which I'm very surprised.

We finally replaced the timing belt and the other belts for the first time after 115,000 miles.

Most of the mile have been around town in short trips. We have been to Idaho and Connecticut (twice) from Florida.

I would buy another, but my wife wants a Highlander. We will need less room now that our oldest son is leaving for the Navy.
