1993 Toyota Supra SZ-R review from UK and Ireland

Nothing went wrong in the 6 months I owned it, as you would expect really.

Apart from the brake discs and pads that needed changing, but I was glad as I've never fitted or driven a car with vented and grooved discs before. I like the stopping power.

Seats were re-trimmed 1 year before me owning it, so the interior smelt fresh and the carpet looked new.

Traded my 98 BMW 328i mtec in for it. My supra was the SZ-R in 97' anniversary blue.

Beautiful car, chose the non turbo as I'm only 19 and my budget was £3500.

Was told the power had been upped from 230bhp to around 272, and a printout came too for better fueling, which I was impressed with.

Mods were a wet twinshot NOS system, full Nur spec straight thru exhaust, race headers, remap and air filter and few other tinkery thngs.

Very loud and quick acceleration upto 2000rpm, although between 2000rpm and 4000rpm the acceleration seemed slow, but then gave a boost like turbo right up to 5800rpm? Was doing 5.5 seconds to 60 timed. Good for an SZ.. no?

Handled great providing it wasn't icy or raining LOL.

Very simple to put the tail out!!

Interior was not as refined as my beemer, but who cares, it's a Supra.

Don't think I played my radio once LOL?

Miss selling her, but I really want a GTO TT, can't afford Supra TT just yet.

If you ever buy one, you'll not regret it until your fueling runs low, after a £20 fill up will last you an hour if you play with it like I did!

Bullet proof engine and very reliable.

Only bad point I think is the standard 230 power was not high enough for the displacement; if they'd have given it the standard power figures of a 350z, I think this SZ would beat that of any E36 M3 standard as it's a pure track car.
