The only thing that is at all worn on my car is the paint. It is faded badly and rust is starting to show through.
I cannot seem to keep tires on it for some reason. I think it is because I leave a layer or two of rubber at every stop light.
I am seriously addicted to Supras. I had a 1983 non-turbo and I loved it. I then bought a 1987 non-turbo and I liked that one even more. I then bought a 1991 Chevy Pick up. This only lasted a month before buying my latest car. I currently drive a 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo, and just for the record I am never selling this one.
This car has amazing acceleration and awesome top end power.
How long does your tires last? on my supra I made 75000 miles with bridge stones tires and still have some tread left on the other hand my celica gts cannot make it past 15000 miles, just remember the supra being a rwd regular tyre rotation should help prolong tyre life and by th way check the rims and make sure you have (r) right letter rim on the right side and (L) on the left most tires shops will put them on wrong and that may be costing you wear and money.
I am in agreement with your assessment of the 1989 Supra Turbo. If you have a decent one, do not get rid of it. Mine had 88K miles on it when I became a Salesman and had to drive a 4 door American sedan (I got the Dodge Intrepid and the valve guides wore out around 43K miles and had to have new heads). The Supra is built incredibly well, when you take a part off of it the new part fits exactly. I replaced the valve cover gasket and realized how impressive the engineering is. I purchased an extended warranty for my Supra and never made a claim. As far as tires go, the Bridgestone RE950's are an excellent choice and should give you at least 30K miles if driven real hard (50K for subdued driving). If I could buy a brand new one identical to the '89 I would do it in a second.
