"Expensive-To-Maintain-Piece of JUNK"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

When I first got the car the transmission had gone out. We also had to have the clutch replaced. The A/C does not work and the passenger window does not work. The car burns a lot of oil. The head gasket is going bad right now. The hatch leaks, and makes the car smell terrible. The muffler fell apart.

General comments?

The car is a good car when it is in good shape. Do not buy a supra when it is in 'decent' shape.

And just how much did you pay for your Supra?

You have a very good point. Any car in my opinion that is bought for under 800 dollars, you are looking for trouble. Or at least a few problems you will have to fix. Save more for a newer year or better condition.

Here are some obvious facts to consider: As with any mechanical item, over time, things tend to wear out and eventually break. If you don't perform preventative maintenance on your vehicle, it will wear out sooner than it should. When you abuse a vehicle, it tends not to last very long. If you let a lot of little broken things add up because you are "cheap" then of course you end up with a piece of junk. I happen to like my Supra, 22 years old and still runs great... paint still shines, no rust and parts when needed are still available.
