This car broke my heart. When I bought it I thought I had found a reasonably priced, nice-looking, retro 80's machine. Instead I got a completely unreliable car with repair costs greater than the original sticker price and a one hour walk when it overheated in the middle of nowhere. I strongly recommend no one buy this car. It is indeed very comfortable to sit in and has plenty of little gadgets. However, once you realise that the original designers made horrible flaws in terms of reliability you will agree that this car is not worth the effort. When I was looking for used cars I was advised Toyotas were very reliable; this car is the exception to the rule.
Because the valve heater was made of plastic, which melts and affects the head gasket. Dealers make money from this.
