1994 Toyota T100 review from North America

"Great capacity, corners great, doesn't drive like a pickup, camps wonderfully"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Gone through 3 starters, but I keep buying the remanufactured ones. They go bad a few months after the warranty expires, of course.

Been in a couple of fender benders and have been able to pull out the body and slap on new plastic with no problems.

Rear brakes seem to be out of adjustment, they lock up in the snow or rain, bad news there.

Rip in driver's side seat has become a hole, no one makes a seat cover big enough for this truck.

Red paint is fading, but no clear coat problems.

General comments?

Excellent truck! I love this guy. The bed is 8' x 4.25' and big enough to put plywood sheets between the wheel wells. I have a camper shell on him and with carpet in the bed there's enough room for a blow up queen size bed in there with a foot or so at the end for getting in or out, or maybe gear.

I have a studio apartment and I can get everything I own in the back of my truck in one trip. Makes moving so easy!

He gets 20 miles to the gallon, no matter what I do. City, highway, sea-level or in mile-high Denver it's always the same.

He's low to the ground and corners almost as well as my Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Performance is lack-luster. I mean, there's definitely enough power to jump on the freeway, but if you're looking for a beast, this isn't the truck for you.

I've towed a 1967 travel trailer for a short distance and it's do-able, but I don't like being that hard on my truck.

It has a 1,256 lb. bed capacity and drives even more comfortably when full.

I drove it 17 hours in one day and didn't have to stop for anything, but gas. The seats are positioned correctly and are comfortable for me (I'm 5'9" and 150lbs.)
