I had a problem with the throttle sticking since I left the dealer. The truck actually drove off on its own twice. The second time I almost ran a guy over in a parking lot. Toyota says its normal. I won my lemon law case.
Comfortable to drive
cruise stays where you set it no surging
throttle sticks
engine stays revved up after you let off the gas to shift very crappy to drive.
Load exhaust
rear view mirror in a bad spot (blind spot) mirror too low.
Congrats on winning the lemon law case. It's too bad that others who own a Taco have not reported their problems, people are having all sorts of problems that the dealers are not resolving.
There are no problems with Tacoma's whatsoever, from the first year to present. They're the best trucks on the road, by far.

This is more starry-eyed rhetoric from someone in total denial of the owner's experience. Why is it that some Toyota owners just can't accept that they produce lemons like any other mass-produced product?
I have been driving toyota trucks for over 15 years and and have NEVER had single problem. Refined, well built, trouble free. No comparison over the competition.
I will say that the new 2007 Tundra has not impressed me. For the first time, the interior looks and feels cheap.
I hope its not the beginning of the end.
Unfortunately numerous automotive sources, as well as these reviews do tend to indicate that Toyota has begun a major slump into mediocrity from which it will likely not recover. Unlike domestic makers, Toyota has never been very concerned about pleasing their customers are honoring their complaints. The puny Toyota warranty is a perfect example. If a company really believes their products are well made, they don't hesitate to offer good warranties.
Toyota made a name for themselves with their great reliability. Now that the company is as big as it is, quality will inevitably fall. However if you say this to some toyota owners, they go into "crazy brand fan" mode.
If you want repeat business, not brief sudden new business, you have to immediately resolve issues and problems. My best import was a 1995 model and I could harp on its reliability. But I have bought many more Japanese models since becoming average and then less than average. I believe the only remedy is to have a long import warranty to match higher production. I wonder how many others are like my family leaving new import purchases over major mechanical issues you would have never seen in the past? The worst feeling is wondering if a car under 40,000 miles is going to be stranded along the road again regardless on meticulous care on maintaining its service schedule (and by the dealer no less) A mass produced product needs excellent service, not just after the sale.

Yes, even Consumer Reports gives Toyota a black dot once in a while (meaning a problem area).
The Tacoma is a very reliably vehicle however nothing is perfect. I've had problems with the Power Door locks, HVAC blower motor, brakes, and A/C with mine.
Having said that, this truck is still the best vehicle I've ever owned.
I could also say my truck is the best I have ever owned. It's also the only truck I have ever owned.
