1993 Toyota Tercel Sport review from North America
"Good car if you like to top up the oil"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I first bought the car it was burning oil I had to top it up once a week. Next thing to go was the filler neck on the gas tank. (about 2 weeks after I bought the car) that was about 190.00 canadain to fix. next thing was the exhaust. Most of it was average mantiance, but the engine burning oil was pathetic. I couldnt believe I had to top it up once a week. On top of that the 3rd spark would wear out easily because oil would hit it.
General comments?
This was my first car. Shortly after I purchased it I found out that 93 Tercels were known for burning oil. I bought a different car shortly after a year. I now drive a 95 corolla. I have had that for almost 2 months so far nothing has gone wrong with it. I love Toyotas. they make good cars, but I was unhappy with their 1.5L engine for 93.
