1991 Toyota Tercel DX review from North America
"Lifesaver"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The entire exhaust system fell off while going up an exit ramp at 103,000 miles.
General comments?
This car is great. It takes me everywhere, though it lacks power, but it takes corners like it's on rails.
The air conditioning system works great and the factory installed stereo sounds like a premium system.
And when it needs to go, boy will it go, it has a forced down shift option so when you get it above 35 miles per hour and click the pedal to the floor the transmission goes into 2nd or 3rd and the car takes off - very useful when passing.
Though it is not too comfortable for long trips. But great for around town driving and you would be surprised what you can get into the trunk.
