1984 Toyota Tercel 4X4 SR5 review from North America
"A great buy at $400"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Ratio adapter went bad, so I had no speedometer and have no idea how many miles are on it and how many I have put on myself.
Exhaust leak around the exhaust manifold.
Idles rough. I believe the timing is off by a cog or two.
Burns oil and has a very small leak.
The left rear axle bearing went out.
Missing 5th gear.
General comments?
This car handles like a beauty and can get up and go when you want it to.
The brakes could have a little more braking power.
The four wheel drive is assuring because the car is perfectly balanced and you can tell when the four wheel drive is working and giving you the extra traction needed to get out of sticky situations.
The seats haven't even begun to wear yet.
