1983 Toyota Tercel Delux review from North America
"Utilitarian's Dream"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine has a loud tapping sound.
Brakes are a bit weak.
Driver seat's looks like a dog has
eaten a third of it.
Gas mileage is lower than I anticipated (around 22 mpg)
General comments?
This is a great commuter car. It is bare bones with out a single power component. But in terms of a reliable way to get around town, this vehicle does the job. I was convinced to purchase this vehicle after noticing them everywhere on the big island of Hawaii. Folks there understand the importance of quality at a cheap price. The 3ac engine is very trusty and easy to work on.
