1993 Toyota Tercel dx sport review from North America
"Good on gas, but is built cheaply"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The valve seals started to leak badly the first day, on the 600k trip home.
The weather striping and pin striping is falling off.
The transmision has been replaced.
Lacks power, but it only has 97 to start with, this may be the problem.
When first started it hesitates and blows lots of blue.
When turned off it idles on for a few seconds.
The rear seats are hard to restrian a child seat in because of the seat shape.
The car has an eletical short somewhere and zaps me when getting out.
It won't last to 4000000km like my 82 tercel.
General comments?
It is very good on gas.
It handles well for a low en-modle.
It is very easy to dive.
Standard transmision is has smooth shifting and the gears are all there, more than I can say about my VW.
